Pet Friendliness
4 Things We Liked
Why do I give this hotel 3 1/2 paws in our Pet Friendliness Review? I wanted to leave it at 3 paws, but the No.4 on my list below got that extra half-paw!
We were celebrating my 60th mom’s birthday, so the whole family was going to be there. I put myself in charge of looking for the perfect hotel. I made sure it was pet-friendly so Chevy could join us and that it would be a memorable stay for the whole family. We had so much fun, Chevy included!
I was looking for these things during our stay, and I was lucky to find them at this resort.
1. Good reviews:
It has 4 bones out of 5 in BringFido and Trip Advisor, most of the guest reviews, have good ratings. People mentioned they accepted large dogs (very important) and they had a good shuttle service. Also important since the hotel is located far away from Key West center.
2. Pet fees:
The fees weren’t extra expensive like other places we stayed before. This resort welcomes two pets up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $75 per stay. We had no issues with Chevy’s weight being over 50 pounds. I would advise you to call the hotel first.
3. Greenery and close to the water:
You will enjoy those potty breaks if you like long walks with your pup and water views.
4. Hotel Staff:
By the day we were checking out, I thought of a 3-paws review. Nothing was special about this place. And by breakfast time, something happened.
Chevy wasn’t allowed on the outdoor terrace, and I wasn’t happy. I couldn’t understand why he couldn’t be with us outdoors if the hotel was ”pet-friendly.”
But regardless of this, the staff were above and beyond. They grabbed some tables and chairs and set up a separate area for my dog and my big family. That day, we celebrated my mom’s birthday all together, including Chevy!
3 Things We DIDN’T Like
1. ”Pet Friendly”?
Of course, Chevy not being allowed on the outdoor terrace is the No.1 thing I don’t like about this ”pet-friendly” resort! They sorted it out, but it should be a problem in the first place, right?
2. Last-minute cancelation:
One of my family members had their room reservation canceled the same day we arrived! I bet you agree with me that it is not fun to drive more than three hours (from Miami) and find out you don’t have a hotel room anymore.
They were lucky that they had three kids, including a six-month-old baby, so the hotel made an exception. They got them in a cheaper room, but the experience wasn’t the best.
3. Hotel Location:
The greenery and the proximity to the water were nice for our walks with Chevy, but I wish they were located closer to the city center.
However, this hotel is a good option if you want to be close to Key West International Airport.
As I mentioned in one of the tips for finding dog friendly hotels in Key West, you choose the hotel location based on what you want to do during your stay.

Hotel Costs
The total cost of our one-night stay was $534; it wasn’t cheap! Including:
- room charge: $429
- pet fee: $75
- resort fee: $30
Other expenses:
I’m not including other expenses like food because that depend of how many people are staying and your preferences. I would recommend their breakfast buffet, for $18.99 you get access to the buffet and eat all you want. That’s a perfect option for a big family and a big dog!
Would I stay here again?
No. It would be good for one time, but I would look for a better location next time. There are so many options out there!
Like the Rose Lane Villas, my favorite pet friendly hotel in Key West so far. I really enjoyed being so close to Duval Street and being able to walk everywhere!
