When to Book and How Much Will Cost the Dog-Friendly Hotel in Key West:
1. Start searching early, book ahead, and I would advise avoiding peak season (from December to April). Booking for those months means high prices and crowds.
2. Compare pet fees and amenities—your dog doesn’t care about the Wi-Fi like you, but it cares if there are treats or doggy bags included.

3. Consider location – do you want to be near the beach or within walking distance of Duval Street?
Finding the perfect hotel location is the most important step. Here are a few top dog-friendly hotels in Key West to get you started:
Best dog-friendly hotels in Key West:
- Rose Lane Villas: Ahhh, I love this place! Location, location, location. It’s located less than 300 feet from Duval Street (one of the main streets and attractions in Key West) but also so quiet! They have a pool where Chevy took long naps while sunbathing and I enjoyed myself under the palm trees. Rose Lane Villas welcomes pets of any size for a $50 fee per stay. I would always stay at this place when I go to Key West. Read our review here.
- Havana Cabana at Key West: I loved this place’s style. Since I’m from Cuba, I’m biased, jajaja! They have a huge pool and cute rooms. It’s located far away from the center, but if you are looking to relax and enjoy the hotel life, this is the place. They have a $75 fee per pet per night. I didn’t bring my dog with me when stayed here, but I wish I did, that’s why I recommend it.

- DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Grand Key: This Resort welcomes two pets up to 50 lbs for an additional fee of $75 per stay. Both dogs and cats are permitted, but pets may not be left in rooms unattended. We recently stayed here for a weekend, and we like it. It’s located far away from the city center but they have a good shuttle service. And the staff is great! Find out why we almost give them 4/5 paws of Pet Friendliness Review during our stay.
Key West isn’t just about the hotels; it’s an entire playground for you and your four-legged best friend! After you know what you want to do, you can find a hotel near those attractions that are a must-do in Key West.
- Do you want to explore the Beaches? Let your doggo splash in the waves at dog-friendly spots like Higgs Beach Dog Park.
- Maybe visit some parks, such as the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden.
- Or have a Boat Tours Adventure: Many boat companies offer dog-friendly sunset cruises and snorkeling adventures.
- Outdoor Dining: Countless restaurants have dog-friendly patios perfect for people-watching with your pup.
Planning Your Paw-fect Trip: Essential Tips
- Read the Reviews: See what other pet parents say about the hotel’s cleanliness, noise levels, and overall pet-friendliness.
- Know the Rules: Call the hotel directly to double-check each hotel’s pet policy for weight limits, fees, and any size/breed restrictions. Nobody wants unpleasant surprises after hours of driving.
Bonus tips:
Check the weather before booking. Key West is a great tropical destinations, but it’s a good idea to always double check the weather for the desired dates since you are traveling with your dog. Avoid warmest months aka: summer! Your dog’s paws will thank you.
Pack Smart. Remember to bring essentials like food, bowls, a leash, waste bags, your dog’s documentation, and any medications.
