But I want to take my dog with me! Are people sick of dogs everywhere? Should you stop taking your dog everywhere, even the stores?
Did you ever hear someone saying that? Did someone ever say it to you? Well, someone told me something worse; I’ll tell you what.
I’m the typical dog mom who can’t stop taking my dog everywhere, except grocery stores (for sanitary reasons) and my annual gynecologic exam.
I wish I could take my dog to that this year; I bet he will be super supportive and hold my hand! I bet the doctor won’t be happy with Chevy in the exam room, but we are talking about my health here, right? Just kidding, or am I?! 😉
What about including our dog with us on vacations?
Is that okay? Does society accept that? To be honest, I don’t f**ing care, but I’m curious to know why that wouldn’t be okay.
Should I let my dog back home, get a couple of margaritas, and be back on Monday? I know if someone weren’t happy, that would be Chevy, knowing that I could easily drive him.
I get it; we can only include them sometimes. I’m talking about our vacations that we can easily drive, like our last trip to Key West with Chevy. Check it out here
Or what about when we are moving across the country? As we did from Miami to Seattle a couple years ago.
I remember someone asking me why we would take our dog with us. They said:
”You know you can return a dog to the shelter, right?”
I have never felt so angry in my life. Not everyone likes dogs, I get it, but I can’t believe they said that. I just left the house; I couldn’t even say anything. Did something like that happen to you too? What did you say?
