This post is about 12 things to do with your boyfriend and dog this year.
January: Movie Night
Remember those cold winter nights when cuddling on the couch is the only thing on the agenda? Spice it up with a dog-themed movie marathon! We’re talking classics like “Marley & Me” (prepare the tissues!), “101 Dalmatians” (for a playful throwback), or even something quirky like “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” (guilty pleasure alert!). Fido gets to snuggle between you two, popcorn spills are inevitable, and laughter is guaranteed. Bonus points if you dress up in dog-themed PJs!
February: Cook a Romantic Dinner Together
Skip the crowded restaurants and ditch the boring flowers. This Valentine’s Day, prepare a nice dinner and bake heart-shaped dog treats together (Chevy loved my peanut butter and banana concoction) and have a picnic in your living room, backyard or balcony with blankets, cheesy rom-coms, and plenty of cuddles (both human and canine). Don’t forget a cute little bow tie for your pup – he’ll be your furry Cupid!

March: Dog-Friendly Yoga with a Twist
As the world bursts with color, take your usual yoga practice up a notch by inviting your pup and partner to join the fun! Find a dog-friendly yoga class or create your own “Doga” routine at home. Modify poses to accommodate your furry friend, embrace the occasional doggy interruptions, and laugh at the adorable attempts to imitate your downward-facing dog. It’s a stress-busting, laughter-filled workout that will leave you feeling energized and connected to your furry (and not-so-furry) companions.
April: Pawsitive Pals, Volunteer Your Time
Spread the love by volunteering with your boyfriend and dog at your local animal shelter.
National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day is celebrated on April 30th every year. What a better way to celebrate this date and your love for the animals than visit your nearest shelter and walk pups in need of companionship, help socialize shy cats, and witness the joy on animal faces when they receive love and attention. You’ll not only make a difference, but you’ll also bond with your boyfriend and dog over your shared compassion.
May: Dog-Friendly Brewery Tour and Treats
Find a local brewery with a dog-friendly patio and sample their craft beers while your dog enjoys a special “pup-uccino” (made with whipped cream, no coffee!). Learn about the brewing process, play fetch in the beer garden, and capture some dog adorable photos. Check Bring Fido website for pet friendly places and activities near you.
June: Doggy Romantic Picnic
Ditch the fancy tablecloth and pack a basket of pup-approved treats alongside your picnic goodies. Find a secluded spot with a scenic view, spread out a blanket, and let the fun begin! Play fetch with your dog, have him “help” you assemble your sandwiches (prepare for slobbery assistance), and capture the pure joy on your boyfriend’s face as your dog steals his heart (and maybe a crumb or two).
Bonus points if you bake dog-friendly cookies or whip up some homemade pupcakes as a special surprise!
July: DIY Dog Treats Bake-Off
Channel your inner Martha Stewart and whip up some homemade dog treats with your boyfriend. Bake heart-shaped cookies, peanut butter biscuits, or even frozen banana pup-sicles. Not only will you have a blast mixing and decorating, but you’ll also have a batch of delicious treats to spoil your furry pal with. Chevy loves our peanut butter and apple muffins – they disappear faster than you can say “good boy!”
August: Sunset Snuggles on the Beach
Pack a blanket, some dog treats, and head to the beach at sunset. Watch the waves crash, listen to the seagulls squawk, and cuddle up with your boyfriend as Chevy digs holes in the sand like a furry sandcastle architect. Bonus points if you capture a silhouette photo of the three of you against the fiery sky.
September: Hike with a View
Get some exercise and fresh air together with a hike in the woods. Find a scenic trail that allows dogs and enjoy the breathtaking views with your furry companion by your side. Chevy loves exploring new smells and chasing butterflies, while I get lost in the beauty of nature and the quiet moments with my boyfriend.
October: Dress Up for Halloween
What can bring a couple closer than dressing up with the dog and looking ridiculously together for Halloween? Etsy has cute costume ideas.
November: Take a Spontaneous Road Trip Somewhere New
Do you have some time and don’t know what to do? This is the perfect excuse to pack your bags overnight, grab your car keys and a leash, and let’s hit the road!
Traveling can be fulfilling, but traveling with your partner and dog is what life is about.
December: Have a Doggy Photoshoot
Turn your dog into a reindeer. Drive around your town and look for the best Christmas backdrop you can find. Take all the pictures you can, and have fun making memories. He’ll be the most adorable reindeer Rudolph ever saw! Amazon has cute costume ideas.

Travel to a Different Country
Taking Chevy to Europe with us has been a dream of mine for a while. So, today, I’m sharing my dream with you. Spring can be the perfect time to explore Italy with your boyfriend and dog.
Some day, we want to take Chevy to hike the famous coastal trails with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Chevy will love sniffing out hidden coves and splashing in the turquoise waters.
We will rent a boat in Lake Como and cruise around the picturesque lake, stopping for swims and sunbathing breaks with our furry friend. Enjoy lakeside aperitifs with stunning mountain views.
We even know how to fly to Europe with our dog. We are already saving for the tickets with k9jets, a Pet-Friendly Private Jet Charter. It’s not cheap but will be worth it!
This bonus month in Italy adds a touch of international adventure to your year of dog-tastic dates. With delicious food, breathtaking scenery, and endless canine cuddles, it’s sure to be a trip you’ll cherish forever!
Recreate Your First Date
Imagine you can recreate your first date and show your pup how his pawrents met a while ago. Duplicate everything of that date, a very similar place, the food you ordered, the clothes you wore, everything!
This idea can be really fun when explaining it to your dog, and it will be good for your relationship, reliving the moments when you both fell in love.
Have Breakfast in Bed
Could you tell me a better way to start the day than having breakfast in bed? And even more, if your partner prepares a delicious breakfast for you without you leaving the comfort of your bed? Good luck with stopping your dog from stealing the food from you 🙂
There are many ways to express love and keep your love story alive; yes, I’m talking about breakfast!
Adopt a Dog for Your Dog
Two dogs are better than one! Your dog gets a playful buddy, the adoptee gets a loving home, and both enjoy reduced stress, boosted confidence, and more exercise. Just ensure a smooth introduction for a happy pack! Look for your new pup in Petfinder.

Foster a Dog
If you cannot adopt, try fostering a dog. There are a lot of pups out there that are looking for a home and need temporary care and housing.
Trust me on this: I fostered a dog before, and it is like having a trial.
- There are no compromises; you don’t have to keep it.
- At no cost to you since most of the rescues provide all the dog essentials like food, a dog bed, and a leash,
- And see how your dog would behave with another pup before even adopting.
It’s practical, and you are helping dogs, too! For more info about fostering a dog, learn more in Petfinder or visit your city shelter website.

Ice Cream & Pupcicles in the Park
Beat the summer heat with a trip to the ice cream shop! Grab a cone for yourself and your boyfriend, and don’t forget a pupcicle for Chevy (frozen banana with peanut butter is his favorite!). Find a shady spot in the park and enjoy your treats while watching the world go by. Chevy loves the attention he gets from other ice cream-eating pups, and we always have a good laugh at their funny faces.
Carve “Pup-tacular” Jack-o’-Lanterns
Get creative with your pumpkin carving! Instead of the usual spooky faces, create adorable dog-themed masterpieces. Think bone shapes, paw prints, even your pup’s silhouette. Light a candle inside, and let Chevy admire his glowing likeness – he’ll be barking with pride!
Recreate Iconic Movie Scenes
If you saw The Lady and the Tramp movie, you know about the iconic scene where the two dogs share a spaghetti kiss! Now imagine recreating this scene with your boyfriend and dog, chef kiss!
