Okay, it’s time for some dog mom life confessions. Does anyone else have those moments when you look at your furry best friend and think, “I love you, BUT…”?
Don’t get me wrong, Chevy is my whole world. But sometimes, the dog mom’s life sucks…
Those 3 am potty breaks, the eating spoiled food from the garbage can, and that time he happily rolled in something unspeakable in the backyard…let’s say my patience wears a little thin.
Or when my perfectly tidy entryway became a mud-splattered disaster zone after a walk.
Let’s be real, fellow dog moms – sometimes, those picture-perfect Instagram posts make us want to hurl our phones across the room. In honor of keeping it real, what’s a moment this week when your pup pushed you to the edge of sanity?
I know I’m not the only one! It’s those times where the unconditional love takes a backseat to a fleeting flash of “What have I gotten myself into?!”
But here’s the thing – it’s okay not to be “Super Dog Mom” always. At the end of the day, the slobbery kisses, the happy tail wags, and the unwavering loyalty make all those little frustrations melt away. Everytime I find myselft in one of those moments I remember the saying:
“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself”
So next time you find yourself scrubbing mysterious goop off the carpet or tripping over a rogue chew toy for the hundredth time, take a deep breath. We’re all in this dog mom life together, mess and all.
