I must confess that my dog doesn’t come when I call him.
That’s it, I said it! My dog can’t do the most basic command ever.
I don’t even have to call his name when we are at home. He would be stalking me on my way and inside the bathroom!
But when we go outside, like for a walk or to the dog park, he suddenly loses his hearing capabilities.
Tell me something more embarrassing than calling your dog in the middle of the dog park, with every dog parent watching your dog go deaf. Awkward, right?
Well, that happens to me every single time. When I’m about to call his name, it’s like having a dejavu; I know already what’s about to happen.
I know it’s my fault; I should get a dog trainer.
Well, I don’t have money to pay for a trainer, ok? And I refuse to believe I can’t teach him myself how to f**ing come when I call him! It shouldn’t be so hard, right?
But it is, so we will keep trying. That’s all I can do: keep trying.
If you have a similar situation, please let me know in the comments. Because, we, dog moms, need to know we are not alone in this.
Does your dog doesn’t come when you call him? Do you have a dog mom confession you are dying to say out loud but are too embarrassed to?
