Sometimes, I look at my sweet Chevy, with his greying muzzle and those big, patient eyes – and a wave of love washes over me.
It’s a love so deep and pure that it fills my chest until it almost aches.
Do you feel the same way about your dog? I bet you do.
But what are those things that make our dogs so special? Those things that we think our dog is the best and cutest thing in the whole world!
11 Reasons Why I Love My Dog so Much
- We have a lot in common. We can be gentle and loving but distant when we need space.
- We are calm, and we don’t get upset easily. If we are, what did you do? 😉
- We love to sleep! I know most dogs sleep a lot (around 16 hours), but I’m talking of a ”let’s stay in bed the whole day” mood!
- He needs time to get comfortable with someone new. He will be nice, but you need time and gestures to win his heart.
- I love how my chin fits perfectly above his muzzle when we cuddle (did you know that area is called stop?)
- I love it when he stares at me and says so many things without saying anything at all.
- When I feel sad or have a shitty day, he looks at me and doesn’t know what to do; he lays down by my side and waits.
- He makes me feel good. Did you know that when we pet our dogs, both of our brains release oxytocin – the cuddle hormone? No wonder we’re so bonded!
- He is a living reminder of making every day count. That wagging tail when I come home, the goofy zoomies when I say the words: Let’s go! and he knows that means we are going out for a walk.
Chevy is an expert at finding joy in the simplest things. He remind me to slow down and appreciate life’s little moments.
- He never judged me. His love is unconditional. No matter my mood, good day or bad, my dog thinks I’m the absolute best. Humans should be more like dogs, right?!
- He has taught me patience and to prioritize what is really important. He makes me a better human.
